Washington’s offense and defense finally show up at the same time allowing for Washington to get their first dominating game in what feels like forever.

Washington closes out their win 42-14, that being the first time they scored 42 points since 2016.

Jayden Daniels once again impressive as he is finishes the game with 233 passing yards 1 passing touchdown on 26/30 of passing, all of this without taking a sack. He also added 47 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on top of that. He did end the game with an interception, for his first of the year.

The biggest factor of the game were the trenches. Both the offensive line and the defensive line were dominate throughout todays game. The offensive line did not allow any sacks, whilst also leading the run game 216 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. The defensive line matched their productivity with 4 sacks and relentless pressure on Kyler Murray all game.

Sadly, our ‘no punt streak’ ended this week along with our ‘scoring on every drive streak.’ Tress Way was forced onto the field one time in the second quarter (where he delivered a beauty).

The defense finally stepped up today, lead by Bobby Wagner and Jeremy Chinn who was every where today. Some key third down and fourth down stops were the key to their success along with a fumble, forced and recovered, by Frankie Luvu.

Terry McLaurin was once again able to find his way into the offense racking up 7 receptions for 52 yards and 4 first downs and a touchdown. But surprisingly Olamide Zacchaeus was the key to the successful pass game. He grabbed 6 receptions for 85 yards and all 6 of his receptions ended in first downs. Along with Zacchaeus unlikely performance we also saw Jeremy McNichols have a huge game with 68 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, while averaging 8.5 rushing yards.

Washington now stands alone at the top of the NFC east at 3-1.

Commanders fan’s haven’t seen a game like this is in a while. As I see it, its the teams best (most decisive) win since the 2016 Christmas Eve win against the Bears where they grabbed five interceptions and scored 41 points. Nonetheless its been a long time since the Commanders could feel like this.

Jayden Daniels has put the soul back into the Washington fan base. I’m excited to see the fan rollout as the Commanders return home against the 1-4 Browns next week at 1pm.
